Bill No. 143/2024 was approved by the committees and plenary of the Legislative Assembly of the State of Sergipe (Alese) – amending the lottery law, which allows the Executive Branch to provide the lottery service in Sergipe.

In the text, the caput of article 1 and the text of the eighth paragraph of paragraph 2 are changed. The action is necessary to add sport to the list of public policy modalities benefiting from the initiative, which did not happen initially.

The State Government‘s initiative seeks ways to expand the types of resources destined to encourage sports as well.

According to the text of the project: “The state lottery will allow for increased investment in sports infrastructure, support for training programs and competitions. In other words, benefiting athletes of all disciplines and levels.

Such investment not only promotes sporting performance, but also contributes to social inclusion, offering opportunities for different segments of society and promoting the integration of vulnerable groups”.

Sergipe Lottery will help expand investments in health

Furthermore, the project seeks to expand investments in the health and well-being of the population. “Sports activities play a crucial role in promoting physical and mental health, combating diseases related to a sedentary lifestyle and improving citizens’ quality of life”, highlighted the Executive Branch, author of the proposal.

“This initiative is also essential for stimulating and developing new sporting talent in the State. Thus, creating an environment conducive to the discovery and training of athletes who can represent the State and the country in national and international competitions”.
