Charlie Saephan, an immigrant from Laos, received surprising news on Monday (29). After a years-long battle with cancer, he won an extraordinary $1.3 billion in the US lottery, Powerball.

He lives in the state of Oregon, in the United States. Since 2016, Saephan has been courageously facing cancer, a fight that has been with him for years. Before receiving the news of his incredible lottery win, he worked as a mechanic.

His cancer diagnosis in 2016 drastically changed his life, but he didn’t give up. Last week, he completed his final chemotherapy treatment, a crucial step in his health journey.

He received the eighth largest award ever given in United States history. He will share this amount with his wife, Duapen, and his friend Laiza.

In a moment of gratitude and humility, Saephan expressed his intention to pray to God for guidance on how to manage this unexpected fortune.

US Lottery releases drawn numbers

Powerball announced the winning numbers on Sunday (28): 22, 27, 44, 52, 69 and Powerball 9. This drawing was the 41st since the last big Powerball winner, which took place on New Year’s Day.

Matching all six numbers on a two-dollar ticket has tiny odds of just one in 292.2 million.

Powerball tickets are currently on sale in 45 US states, the District of Columbia, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. This event highlights the unpredictability and excitement that Powerball brings to millions of people across the country.

How to play Powerball while in Brazil?

To play Powerball while in Brazil, the player must enter an online lottery website, place their bet and, thus, buy their game. After following these steps, just hope that, who knows, you will be rewarded by luck and become a new millionaire or billionaire.

Finally, the cost to participate in Powerball is $2.00 per game. Therefore, converting to Brazilian currency, this is equivalent to around R$9.96, according to the current exchange rate.
