According to Betfair, Flamengo and Palmeiras lead as favorites to win the CONMEBOL Libertadores 2024. Therefore, the Rio de Janeiro natives have a slight advantage, with 16% (odd of 4.5), while Verdão appears right behind, with 13% (Odd of 5.0).

This trend is reflected in the top five favorites, where four are Brazilian clubs. Check out the full list:

  1. Flamengo, with 16%
  2. Palmeiras, with 13%
  3. Fluminense, Atlético-MG and River Plate, with 10% each
  4. São Paulo, with 6%
  5. Grêmio and Botafogo, with 4% cada

Furthermore, other teams, such as Independiente del Valle, Colo Colo, LDU and Estudiantes, appear with less than a 1% chance of winning.

Brazilian candidates for the South American title

Rivaldo, former player and sports analyst, identifies three Brazilian teams as the main candidates for the South American title. Thus, he highlights Bragantino, Corinthians and Fortaleza as teams that start the competition with emphasis.

“Bragantino is always a promise of a good campaign and so is Corinthians, due to their size. Fortaleza is also a team that always arrives to fight well in competitions.”

In addition to these, other Brazilian teams, such as Athletico-PR, Cruzeiro, Cuiabá and Internacional, are also present in the dispute.

Brazil and Argentina at the top of the bets for the South American

With the presence of several traditional clubs, this year’s South American Championship is a source of expectation and interest for football fans.

According to Betfair, two teams are tied as favorites at the moment: Boca Juniors, from Argentina, and Internacional, from Porto Alegre, Brazil, both with a 14% chance of winning.
