Federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL) attended the last day of the biggest sports betting, lottery and online gaming event in Latin America. During his visit to BiS SiGMA Americas, he gave an exclusive interview to the iGaming Brazil portal.
The deputy recognized the importance of both the iGaming market and regulation to provide consumer security.
“In fact, I didn’t know the market in depth. It’s a different vision that I have now, including several companies that create security for the player and work to keep the market more equal, productive and with fewer risks”.
“I think this fair is wonderful. Many tourists, many foreigners here, recognizing the grandeur of the event”, added Ferreira.
Brazilian market regulation
Asked about the regulation, Nikolas Ferreira reinforced that it is better than “the limbo it was in, a gray mass where people didn’t really know what to do. This opens the door for people with bad nature or bad faith who want to enter this market to take advantage of the consumer.”
The federal deputy added: “I hope people have a broad debate, I know it is sensitive on several points. But people must be serious about debating in a technical and non-ideological way so that we can advance these issues and have a better condition for this market in Brazil.”
