DraftKings signs fantasy sports deal with NBA Charlotte Hornets

Sports and fantasy betting operator DraftKings has announced a new partnership with Charlotte Hornets. The North Carolina team dispute the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Under the agreement, DraftKings becomes Hornets’ official and exclusive partner for the fantasy sports segment. In return, the operator will considerably increase its presence in the North American state of North Carolina.

Along with access to Hornets trademarks and logos, the deal also includes LED signage for the DraftKings brand to be shown on the court, as well as logo displays at the top of the tables during home matches at the Spectrum Center.

The company and the sports team will also collaborate on promotions and social media content to further align their brands. Together, the new partners will develop a free game focused on the NBA team, which will be integrated into the official Hornets app.

In addition, the agreement also covers VIP experiences during matches with access to press conferences, pitches beside the court on special occasions and meetings with the coach and the entire squad of the team.

“Charlotte Hornets’ basketball games are the most watched NBA clashes on television and we look forward to offering team fans the best experience in the category,” said Ezra Kucharz, business director at DraftKings.

Kucharz added: “We hope to deepen our business relationship with the team through this new contract and the work of DraftKings in the state of North Carolina.”
