Last Monday, the 11th, the National Gaming and Lottery Association (ANJL) spoke in a statement about the vote on Bill 3626-23. This project aims to regulate sports betting in Brazil.

The National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) expresses vigorous support for the regulation, considering it a fundamental measure for the collective benefit of the country.

Sports betting and online gaming have been part of the Brazilian reality for many years. However, the lack of state control over the countless websites that explore these modalities motivates the pressing need for regulation.

According to the note, regulation is the only effective approach to supervising the sector, providing security to the population and companies that wish to invest in Brazil with seriousness and legal support.

Statements by the president of ANJL

For the entity, these forms of entertainment represent legitimate means of fun and leisure, but the lack of regulation leaves room for misleading advertising practices that promote easy enrichment.

Furthermore, it is essential to establish restrictions to prevent access by minors and people with gaming addiction, aspects that the regulation aims to address assertively.

Given this scenario, the question arises: what is the true interest of opponents to the regulation of sports betting and online gaming? Why resist supervision and control by authorities?

“Defending non-regulation is the same as supporting illegal gambling, exposing oneself to the harm associated with the lack of control,” highlights the president of the National Gaming and Lottery Association, Wesley Cardia.

ANJL is confident that the analysis and voting in the Federal Senate will result in the implementation of clear rules for operators, players and the country’s economy.

The expectation is that the regulation will provide not only security, but also a significant source of revenue for Brazil, stimulating a formal and sustainable market.
