Conar predicts a new scenario for betting

In the regulatory scenario, the last days of 2023 marked an important chapter for the sports betting sector in Brazil. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sanctioned the Law that regulates the activities of companies in the sector in the country on December 30th.

After months of proceedings in the Chamber and the Senate to establish the taxes and duties that these companies would face.

Thus, shortly after the presidential sanction, the National Advertising Self-Regulation Council (Conar) published an annex defining strict rules and standards to be followed by companies in the sector.

In general terms, the Council prohibits bookmakers from promoting the idea of easy winnings or getting rich through betting. The objective is to promote a more responsible and transparent environment for consumers.
