The sports betting platform Galera.bet surprised the scene by announcing a million-dollar investment to sponsor the São Paulo Carnival for the next four years.

The bold initiative highlights the growing fusion between the betting universe and the most popular events that move the country.

Bookmakers are not just about football

“It’s a way of reaching another type of audience, also at a popular event that most Brazilians are interested in”, revealed Marcos Sabiá, CEO of Galera.bet, emphasizing the strategy of increasing the platform’s visibility in a festive environment and cultural.

Thus, the partnership will provide Galera.bet with privileged exposure at the Anhembi Sambadrome. In other words, it will be located in an exclusive box and will be a prominent presence at Fábrica do Samba, the Liga-SP events center.

The movement of the platform during Carnival in São Paulo is an audacious bet, seeking to win over a portion of the public that gets involved with the carnival festivities.

But she’s not the only one. Another sports betting company, Esportes da Sorte, is already established in the carnivals of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

The company sponsors the Barra Ondina circuit, in Salvador, and the Galo da Madrugada, in Recife, in addition to street blocks throughout the capital of São Paulo.

The CEO of Grupo Esportes da Sorte, Darwin Henrique da Silva Filho, highlights the continuous investment in carnival events over the last three years, intensifying post-pandemic.

What gives more returns, Carnival or football?

Meanwhile, betting company Reals, recently celebrating the biggest master contract in Coritiba‘s history, aims to establish a partnership with Rio de Janeiro Carnival.

“It’s part of our expansion project that goes beyond sport,” said Rafael Borges, Country Manager at Reals.

Therefore, the massive investment by players in the sports betting industry in Carnival signals a new era of partnerships and actions in popular events.
