Santos Futebol Clube is about to close a new master sponsorship contract to stamp on its uniform. After receiving a proposal from Parimatch, the club is considering terminating the contract with Blaze, the company that currently occupies this space.

The proposal from Parimatch, a company in the betting industry, is significantly higher than Blaze’s current contract.

Parimatch offered R$130 million for three years, approximately R$43 million per season, almost double what Blaze currently pays the club.

Ambassador of Blaze, Neymar contributed to the agreement with Santos

Blaze conquered the noblest space on the Santos shirt in April 2023. The deal was signed under Andrés Rueda’s tenure, with Neymar and his father playing key roles behind the scenes.

Neymar is an ambassador for the company.

But Santos considers relevant the negative impact that the association with Blaze can have on its image. Thus, negative news about the company last year could influence the club’s decision.

Blaze is currently facing complaints about the games available on the platform, problems with its payments, and a high number of consumer complaints.

Therefore, if the club concludes that the continuity of the partnership with Blaze is harmful to its image, there is a possibility of termination of the contract without the payment of a fine.

For this reason, negotiations for the breach of contract are already underway.

Despite this, the team continues to fulfill its commitments on the field. Santos will face the following opponents in their upcoming matches:

  • Novorizontino (C): 2/18, 4 pm (Brasília) – Campeonato Paulista
  • São Bernardo (C): 2/25, 11 am (Brasília) – Campeonato Paulista
  • Red Bull Bragantino (A): 3/3, 6 pm (Brasília) – Campeonato Paulista

Parimatch is the current sponsor of Botafogo

But while the deal doesn’t come out, Parimatch continues to sponsor another alvinegro, Botafogo. The company has occupied a prominent space on the Stove shirt since the beginning of 2023.
