Sports betting in Colorado totaled $306.1 million in August. This represents an increase of 5.5% compared to the previous year and 8.9% compared to July 2022 in the North American state’s accounts.
Players bet $304.2 million online during August, with the remaining $1.9 million wagered at retail sportsbooks.
The Colorado Department of Revenue reported that gross gaming revenue was $25.9 million, level with the same month last year and a 3.6% increase from July 2023.
Online operators reported gross gaming revenue of $25.6 million.
Gamblers won $280.2 million on sports bets in August: $278.5 million online and $1.6 million in retail stores.
Colorado collected $1.8 million in sports betting taxes.

Baseball was again the most popular sport to bet on in August, with players betting $105.5 million.
Tennis came in second place, with $29.9 million. Basketball followed with $26.4 million, while $53.5 million was spent on parlay bets.
July results in the US state
Sports betting in Colorado totaled $281.1 million in July. This represents an 8.9% increase from the previous year, but a 9.5% decrease from the $310.7 million generated in June.
It was the first time the state’s value fell below $300 million since August 2022 and the fourth consecutive month with a month-over-month decline.
Additionally, Colorado claimed $1.8 million in sports betting taxes, bringing the 2023 total to $14 million. That’s $6.6 million ahead of last year’s pace in the first seven months
