IBJR defends responsible regulation in session of the CPI of sports betting

The Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) participated, this Tuesday (8), in a session of the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI) of the Chamber of Deputies that investigates the manipulation of results of soccer matches, represented by the director-president of the institute, Andre Gelfi.

In the session, the entity defended that the safe environment to maintain sporting integrity is one with strong regulation, capable of creating a healthy business environment in Brazil and allowing a wide channeling of players to the legal betting market.

The IBJR thanked the deputies present for the invitation and opportunity to participate in the CPI, adding important information and knowledge about the operation of bookmakers, clarifying details about taxation, regulation and the role of this industry in guaranteeing sports integrity.

The Institute recognizes the importance of wide-ranging conversations about sports betting and the commitment of deputies to gather information to better understand the scenario of match-fixing and the role of companies in protecting bettors and Brazilian society.

A regulation with an adjusted tax burden for companies and gamblers is, without a doubt, the only path to responsible, safe and sustainable gambling.

Only in this way will we be able to create a responsible national market with fairer opportunities for everyone who wants to participate in this great sports betting sector.
