Betfair points favoritism of Brazil against Jamaica in the Women's World Cup

The Brazilian Women’s National Team returns to the field for the World Cup this Wednesday, 2, at 7 am, in its last match for the group stage of the competition against Jamaica. According to Betfair, Brazil is favorite to win and advance in the competition.

After thrashing Panama in the debut, Brazil lost the chance to guarantee its early classification in Group F by losing to France by 2-1.

For now, the Brazilians occupy the third position in Group F.

Brazil with almost 80% chance of winning


According to Betfair, Brazil has a 79% (odd of 1.18) chance of winning in the third match. That is, for every real bet, the person receives R$1.16 in return.

Jamaica’s selection appears with a 7% chance of winning (odd 14.0). While the draw appears with 14% (odd of 6.5), according to the bookmaker.

USA remains favorite and Brazil remains in the Top 10 according to Betfair

With the group stage coming to an end, Betfair has updated the title chances of the teams that are still in contention.

As at the beginning of the World Cup, the USA are still favorites, with a 21% chance of winning the title. Following are:

  • Spain with 18%;
  • Germany with 9%;
  • Australia and Japan with 7% each;

According to Betfair’s analysis, Brazil appears as the 8th team with the most chances of winning the World Cup, there are 5% chances of Marta and company’s team winning the first world title.

Marta dominates chances to score for Brazil

For the bookmaker, the probability that Marta will score a goal or provide an assist in the duel against Jamaica is 58% (odd 1.73).

The player still hasn’t managed to participate actively in the first games and can be one of the key players to help the Brazilian team win in the last match of the group stage.
