The Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, reported a 4.6% increase in revenue for the month of March.

The entity reported that the total value was DKK 627 million (€84.06 million), an increase of 4.6% compared to DKK 599 million (€80.2 million) in March 2023.

This number also represents consecutive months of growth for Denmark’s gaming segment, rising 6.63% from DKK 588 million (€78.83 million) in February 2024.

Online casinos in Denmark are great sources of income

The March amount was driven by growth in online casinos, land-based casinos and gaming machines. But the country’s betting segment declined slightly compared to the same month in 2023.

Thus, analyzing the participation in GGR, online casinos took the largest share, with a share of 49.41%, followed by betting with 29.01%, gaming machines with 16.95% and physical casinos with 4.5%. %.

Thus, online casino revenue in March was DKK 310 million, an increase of more than 20% compared to the previous year (March 2023: DKK 257 million). But of the vertical’s GGR, 76.4% of GGR came from slots, followed by 6.74% from roulette and 6.57% from blackjack.

Anyway, for this segment, 62.53% of revenue came from cell phones, with land-based betting contributing 23.23% and computers 14.24%.

Land-based casinos also contributed

The value of land-based casinos in March increased by 12% to DKK 28 million (March 2023 with DKK 25 million) with an average daily revenue during the month of DKK 900,627.

The GGR of gaming machines has also increased. The total was DKK 106 million to gain a 2.91% lead over the previous year’s DKK 103 million.

But regarding the ROFUS authority’s self-exclusion program, Spillemyndigheden noted that the number of people registered in March was 50,070. Of this total, 32,261 are part of a permanent registry.

Additionally, the StopSpillet gaming helpline took several actions in March. Bettors represent 62.5% of total conversations, followed by relatives, with 31.3%, and consultants with 6.3%.

Meanwhile, 228 other conversations with StopSpillet occurred during the month.

Finally, last month, Spillemyndigheden issued three orders and a reprimand to Mr Green Limited. All for violating the country’s anti-money laundering law.
