Deputy Prof. Claudio Branchieri (Podemos) presented new prospects for the industry in Rio Grande do Sul during a meeting with the state government on Monday afternoon (26). During the meeting, the parliamentarian discussed the betting sector with secretaries from the Innovation, Science and Technology portfolios; Planning, Governance and Management; Partnerships and Concessions; and Civil House of Rio Grande do Sul.
The deputy recently participated in BiS SiGMA Americas, one of the biggest events in Latin America dedicated to the iGaming, Bettech and Sports Betting sector. The event took place on the 15th and 16th of June in São Paulo.
The deputy points out that, in addition to the presence of marketing offices of iGaming companies in Rio Grande do Sul, this segment offers other opportunities in terms of industrialization. He recognizes that the sector has the potential to boost the state’s economy, generating jobs and stimulating the provision of high quality services.
“We are talking about a multibillion-dollar industry, with income generation and highly complex services. Here in the state, through our universities, we have total capacity to provide the manpower that these companies need to come here, with all the the framework of qualification they need,” he said.
With the aim of attracting business to the sector, the politician highlighted the difficulties currently faced by the state due to the deindustrialization process and the change in the economic matrix. He emphasized the importance of analyzing possibilities and implementing strategic actions to stay ahead and attract investment.
RS publishes public notice for creation of state lottery
Earlier this month, the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul published in the Official Gazette the publication of a public notice for the Expression of Interest Procedure (PMI), through the Secretariat for Partnerships and Concessions (Separ). The purpose of this PMI is to assess the feasibility of creating a state lottery.
This measure allows the public administration to receive preliminary studies and projects, which can be contracted later, if they are considered suitable for the RS betting sector. The PMI is a tool used to analyze and plan possible ventures and partnerships at the government level.
