Playtech reports 12% increase in 2021 revenue

Playtech reported revenue of €1.21 billion for the period ended December 31, 2021, an increase of 12% on the previous year. Adjusted EBITDA totaled €317.1 million, up 25% compared to 2020, while adjusted profit after tax grew 366% year-on-year to €127.6 million.

The group noted that it delivered a “strong financial performance, beating its previous forecast.” Performance was supported by Playtech’s B2B business, particularly in the Americas, and the “continued performance” of Snaitech’s Italian B2C division.

“Our annual results demonstrate the quality of Playtech’s technology and momentum across the group. Our strong performance is underpinned by our B2B business, in particular the tremendous growth we have seen in the Americas,” said Mor Weizer, CEO of Playtech.

“We have made real progress in executing our US strategy, supported by new licenses, new launches and new partnerships, and we continue to grow stronger in Latin America, driven by new strategic agreements across the region,” he added.

According to Weizer, “In B2C, the story is similar, with Snaitech continuing to outperform market competitors, reaching the number 1 brand position in sports betting and retail in Italy.”

The company also addressed current negotiations and projected the future, noting that it had an excellent start to 2022, with its B2B and B2C online businesses poised to continue to deliver strong performances.

“Given the strong performance of the fiscal year and the momentum within the business in 2022, the board is confident in Playtech’s future prospects,” reads the official statement issued by the company.
