Loteria de São Vicente tem nova gestão

AMZ Loterias do Brasil Ltda won the bid and secured the concession for the management of ‘Loteria Baixada’ in São Vicente.

The São Vicente Lottery, a city on the coast of São Paulo, will have new management for the next 20 years.

Likewise, the aforementioned company will be able to hold raffles, print tickets and scratch cards – including digital ones -, in addition to promoting electronic, physical and online games.

The decision was made by the city hall through the Finance Department (Sefaz).

The idea is to generate resources for the municipality without increasing taxes and duties.

The Baixada Lottery is a new public service and, now, with the concession, in addition to resulting in more revenue, it will generate jobs, income and partnerships in the city.

The model follows the same model as the lottery carried out by Caixa Econômica Federal, respecting Federal Law 13,756 of 2018, which governs the rules and matters regarding prediction games.

Digital scratch card should be the first product of the São Vicente Lottery

The first product to go on sale should be the digital scratch card, according to AMZ.

Eventually, it may also be printed.

There will also be new games and prize draws, gradually. These will be mandatory audited by an independent company, guaranteeing game security.

According to the city hall, a study carried out by the Fundac Foundation shows that around R$155 million will be raised over the term of the concession.

This is because prediction games represent around 0.20% of Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The money raised will be used to pay social security and share financing.

As well as to pay for projects and funding contributions in the areas of social assistance, human rights, sport, culture, health and public safety.

How was Scratch Card born?

The Instant Lottery, also popularly known as “scratch card“, was a lottery created by Caixa Econômica Federal from 1991 to 2016.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) signed in August the decree that opened the way for the return of the Lotex betting game, in the Caixa Econômica Federal lotteries.

Currently, the game is part of an economic team project to raise money for the government’s coffers.

In the signed decree, the Ministry of Finance began to authorize Caixa to operate Lotex for a specified period of time or for companies that win a bidding process for the concession.
