On Friday (9/6), the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, through the Secretariat for Partnerships and Concessions (Separ), published in the Official Gazette the publication of a public notice for the expression of interest (PMI) procedure. . The purpose of this PMI is to assess the feasibility of creating a state lottery.

This initiative allows the public administration to receive preliminary studies and projects, which may be contracted in the future, if deemed appropriate. The PMI is an instrument used to evaluate and plan possible undertakings and partnerships within the government sphere.

The State of Rio Grande do Sul aims to establish partnerships with the private sector for the implementation of the state lottery. Through the expression of interest process (PMI), the government seeks to attract companies interested in collaborating in this undertaking.

“An action like this opens up new possibilities of resources for various social policies, in addition to boosting the economy as a whole, from the emergence of new businesses related to the provision of lottery services”, said the head of Separ, Pedro Capeluppi.

As established in the announcement, interested companies have a period of 30 days to express their interest in participating in the process. Then, they will have 120 days to present preliminary studies on the viability of creating the state lottery. Upon receipt of these documents, government technicians will carefully analyze them.

Prior to the final publication of the concession, scheduled for the first half of 2024, the Secretariat for Partnerships and Concessions (Separ) will hold consultations and public hearings. These steps will allow society to participate in the decision-making process and provide more information about the state lottery proposal.
