Progress of the PM on sports betting in the National Congress

The sports betting and gaming sector has been mobilizing several parliamentarians in recent months, especially after the PM for sports betting was sent to the National Congress.

In addition to this bill by Deputy Ricardo Ayres, there are several bills pending in both the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate.

Therefore, Provisional Measure (PM) 1182/23, which regulates the exploitation of fixed-quota bets and allocates part of the collection to social areas, received 244 amendments from deputies and senators.

Most of them seek to change the distribution of betting money. However, this deadline for forwarding amendments has already ended.

Now they must be analyzed by a joint commission before being voted on in the plenary sessions of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate within four months so that the MP does not lose its validity.
