The world’s leading cryptocurrency platform, Coinbase, expands its partnership with BIG and acquires core partner rights in one of Europe’s largest eSports club deals.

After a productive collaboration that began in August 2021, Coinbase has now become the lead partner of Germany’s most successful CS:GO team, BIG.

As part of the multimillion-dollar deal, Coinbase has acquired key partner rights for BIG’s CS:GO department, as well as an extensive package of media rights that includes a lead partner position on the team’s official jersey.

Along with Coinbase, BIG will continue to run a wide variety of activations, including community events, tournaments and fan experiences.

The deal comes after winning seats on the BLAST Premier and ESL Pro League circuits, increasing the attractiveness of these elite leagues for both brands. As a partner team, BIG will continue to compete on these circuits for the long-term future, moving on to the BLAST Premier Spring Final in Lisbon this summer.

BIG players will already wear the new jersey at their upcoming events, with several major LAN championships on the horizon for the team.

The statement by Daniel Finkler, CEO of BIG: “The extension of the partnership with Coinbase as BIG’s new lead partner is a significant milestone for our organization.”

“The financial scope of the partnership demonstrates that acquiring seats in the BLAST Premier and ESL Pro League in 2021 proved to be the best decision we could have made. Together with Coinbase, we will compete in the biggest and most prestigious eSports competitions in the world.”

Sascha Rangoonwala, Country Manager Germany at Coinbase, comments on the partnership: “BIG has been a fantastic partner since summer 2022. This partnership with the leading German eSports organization has proven to help us better reach digital natives and educate them about the benefits and risks of cryptocurrencies”.

“That’s why we’ve now deepened the partnership and look forward to driving together awareness and adoption of crypto assets in Germany,” added Sascha.
