SPORTEL Awards acaba de anunciar sua seleção oficial

The SPORTEL Awards, which will take place from October 21st to 23rd, 2023, has just revealed its official selection. For more than 30 years, the most beautiful sports images of the year have been awarded in Monte-Carlo in two divisions: the Georges Bertellotti Golden Podium and the Renaud de Laborderie Sports Betting Prize.

Australian, British, American and French television channels, producers, agencies and international federations submitted their best video productions to this competition recognized as a reference in sports images.

All the works in competition were, once again this year, of high quality, and the pre-selection committee carried out a difficult exercise to choose the best. In the slow motion shots, the emphasis was placed on highlighting the emotion of a sporting moment.

It was necessary to distinguish between documentaries that presented new perspectives on sport, or reports that better highlighted a discipline, an event, a team or a sporting personality.

Next, the selection of the best sequences that represent innovation in production, direction or format for the Innovation Award was also delicate, given the large number of videos entered.

Finally, discussions were lively to pre-select the most beautiful images that best promote a sports program or a sporting event for the Promotion Award, and the best sports-related advertisements for the Christian Blachas Advertising Award.

The Book Prize, sponsored by the Monaco Olympic Committee, which includes the most beautiful illustrated work that highlights sports photography, due to the richness of its illustrations, will be determined among the six selected books that will compete for the trophy, an original sculpture by Didier Noisetier.

The jury will have to decide between works, each more magnificent than the last, containing spectacular action shots, such as Shaun White: Airborne, this illustrated autobiography presented as a family album by the triple Olympic gold medalist, American snowboarder and skateboarder, or Shaping Surf History which deals with the rise of Tom Curren, young legend in the making and future world champion, On the Water: A Century of Iconic Maritime about the golden age of sailing and the pleasure of navigation.

Grands Trails which deals with all the great races in the world and the most beautiful champions in 350 pages including photos, reports, portraits and analyzes by three specialized and recognized authors in the field, Icônico – Nadal, an exceptional book about one of the most emblematic sportsmen, photographed in all fields around the world, and finally Le sport vu du ciel, which reveals extraordinary landscapes, places where sports are practiced in France.
