Amid preparations for the next stage of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup, the players of Cruzeiro’s under-20 team received important guidance on sports betting.

The lecture, part of an action promoted by the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF), focused on alerting and instructing athletes about the dangers and impacts of betting in the sporting environment.

Cruzeiro Under-20s attend educational lecture on sports betting

Held in a large auditorium, the initiative brought together not only Cruzeiro’s young talents, but also representatives from Copinha’s Group 28 teams, such as Capital, Tocantins, Nova Mutum and União Mogi.

Thus, the FPF, through its Integrity Committee, has been promoting this operation to combat corruption and manipulation of results since 2015. In addition to betting, the Committee also investigates cases of harassment, abuse, doping and racism.

This type of action is very important, as it reaches approximately four thousand players and members of the technical committees of the 128 teams participating in the competition.

Furthermore, the lectures are not limited to just guidance on behavior, but also provide information on how to report possible approaches from gamblers.

Awareness spreads across Copinha stadiums

This way, the talk is not exclusive to players. In other words, game venue managers and other professionals involved in the São Paulo Cup also undergo this training.

The good news is that awareness is not restricted to auditoriums. The stadiums that host the 32 Cupinha matches also have posters that draw attention to the theme. The objective is always to alert and prevent risk situations.

On the pitch, after a 1-0 victory against Capital, with a goal from Gui Meira, Cruzeiro only drew 1-1 with Nova Mutum.

Until 1970, the competition only received clubs from the state of São Paulo, but, from 1971, the competition began to receive clubs from all over Brazil. Copinha is already considered the main opportunity to discover future stars of Brazilian football.
