Bookmakers appear among the main sponsors of Brazilian football

The main competition of clubs in Brazilian football starts in the coming days. The Brazilian Series A Championship starts on Saturday, April 15th, bringing a remarkable fact: 19 of the 20 participating teams are sponsored by bookmakers.

The only current exception is Cuiabá, which already had partnerships with companies in the sector. In 2022, the club signed a contract with Luck.bet, however, the bond was not renewed for this year.

Dourado even showed interest in closing a deal with the betting market and even prospected brands interested in two specific spaces on the shirt: the lower front and the back. The club signed new contracts, but with companies from other sectors.

Bookmakers should continue investing in football, says survey

A recent survey by Pluri Consultoria – published on the Metrópoles website – showed the companies that most support teams in Brazilian football, with at least two points that deserve attention:

  • Unimed is the company that most sponsors;
  • Bookmakers are increasingly expanding investments.

Since last month, Unimed has increased its portfolio of sponsored teams by including three more teams, further expanding its advantage in the total number of partner teams to a total of twelve.

With regard to the sports betting sector, it was noted that brands are investing heavily in sponsoring football teams in the country, leveraged by the popularity of the sport in Brazil and the huge engagement with the public that these agreements can entail.

According to a survey by Pluri Consultoria, the expectation is that this movement will continue and further boost the growth of the sports betting sector in the national territory.

Few changes were observed in the number of sponsor groups per segment. The food sector remains in the lead, with the same 15 players that were already included in the previous study.

In the previous report, the telecommunications segment had five sponsoring companies. However, there was a movement in the search for partnerships with companies in this niche, which currently has a total of seven sponsors.
