IBJR and Conar sign a partnership for self-regulation in betting advertising in Brazil

Last Friday, June 16, the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) and the National Advertising Self-Regulation Council (Conar) established a partnership through the signing of an agreement. The objective of this collaboration is to develop and apply guidelines and self-regulation actions within the scope of advertising in the betting sector in Brazil.

The IBJR’s CEO, André Gelfi, said: “In search of ethical and responsible advertising in the sports betting segment, this agreement seeks to expand the journey that began with the launch of our own Advertising Self-Regulation Code, enthusiastic about our international experiences and knowledge for a text by Conar, which is the main authority on the subject in the country”.

“Our objective is to support the creation of a fair, safe and regulated environment for the betting market and, with this agreement, we are moving towards that”, added Gelfi.

IBJR announces arrival of new members

At the beginning of June, the IBJR announced the arrival of four new members, namely: Novibet, LeoVegas, Pay4Fun and Grupo OKTO. The objective is to expand the group’s activities and expertise to create a sustainable Brazilian market.

According to André Gelfi, “the new members are companies of great prestige in the betting sector, have international expertise in regulated markets and identify with the IBJR’s mission of collaborating with society towards a regulated, fair, sustainable market that prioritizes integrity sport and player safety”.
