The Association of State Lotteries of Argentina (ALEA) reported that since November of last year until now, it has blocked more than 500 social media profiles that promote illegal online gambling.

“The fight against illegal gambling is a permanent axis of work for ALEA and its members,” the association said in an official statement in which it detailed that this type of measure could be taken as a result of an agreement with Facebook and Instagram.

In addition, the entity emphasized that another element made it possible to carry out this task of removing sites, profiles and accounts that offer illegal online betting: data from regulatory bodies. The association is focused on preventing the advance of illegal gambling in Argentine territory.
