Kajuru diz que projeto de lei será aprovado

“It will be approved,” said Senator Jorge Kajuru about the sports betting bill that should be voted on in the Senate Plenary.

The voting day would have been on Wednesday last week, but with the postponement of the session, it was moved to this Tuesday, the 12th, according to the Federal Senate.

The sports betting project in Brazil should receive approval without any problems.

At least that is the view of the PSB senator from Goiás, one of the authors of the final report.

According to Senator Kajuru‘s statement to Jornal Opção, the government’s proposal should pass, despite “riots from the opposition”

Therefore: “The government wins, the opposition riots, but the government wins,” he said.

And he continues: “I was one of the authors of the final report, alongside Senator Angelo Coronel (PSD-BA), where we made the importance of approving this project very clear.”

Kajuru concludes: “So I think there will be approval, no problem.”

The project is one of the priorities of the federal government, which estimates that it will raise R$1.6 billion in 2024 through betting.

Disagreements between parliamentarians

Even with all of Senator Kajuru’s optimism, there are points of disagreement among parliamentarians.

The inclusion of online casinos in the bill (PL) regulating sports betting is the main point of conflict between parliamentarians in the Senate.

It was because of the lack of agreement on this part of the PL that the vote was postponed again.

The expectation is that the senators will reach an agreement so that it can be voted on this Tuesday, 12th.

In other words, the initial project, sent by the Federal Government, only included sports betting – authorized in 2018.

Meanwhile, deputy Adolfo Viana (PSDB-BA) included in the text the possibility of legalizing fixed-odd online games in the Chamber of Deputies.

We hope to be able to write a new chapter in the history of betting in Brazil from tomorrow.
