FC Barcelona announces that it has reached an agreement with Tencent for the communication of electronic sports, introducing the culture of eSports to the younger generations and studying ways of collaboration between sport and eSports.

The announcement was made through a formal video released by Tencent, in which one of the members of the board of directors of FC Barcelona and responsible for the digital area, talks about the benefits that this collaboration could bring.

Tencent is the largest game company in the world, thus having a majority stake in Riot Games (the creators of League of Legends and Valorant), Funcom and Supercell. The company also owns a minority share (about 40%) in Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite and Unreal Engine.

In addition, it holds small percentages in several other video game companies such as Paradox, Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Marvelous and Netmarble. FC Barcelona could not have chosen a better partner to continue with eSports business.
