The bookmaker Pixbet would be negotiating with the Corinthians board to become the club’s new master sponsor. According to the website ‘É o Team do Povo’, the proposal would be around R$100 million.
The information was released by journalists Samir Carvalho and Jorge Nicola, in a meeting with someone from Corinthians. The professionals revealed some details of the offer.
Currently, the Pixbet brand appears in two spaces on the Timão’s shirt.
The sports betting company showed interest in negotiating after an offer of 80 million reais from a competitor to occupy the most valuable space on the uniform.
“Corinthians has in its hands a proposal of R$100 million from Pixbet for the bookmaker to be the new master sponsor, which would also include ownership of the omoplata. Pixbet currently pays R$47 million for the shoulder and back”, declared Nicola.
“The interest arose after Superbet offered R$80 million for the master sponsorship of Corinthians.”
“Timão would be forced to remove Pixbet, which was informed and in addition to covering it, would add another R$20 million. The new board assures that it has a proposal of R$100 million. Neo Química could be relocated to another space on the shirt”, added the journalist.
Corinthians in the Brazilian Championship
Corinthians ended their participation in Series A of the Brazilian Championship in 13th place, with 50 points. The team coached by Mano Menezes recorded 12 wins, 14 draws and 12 defeats with a 43% success rate.
The Timão managed to get a place in the next edition of the Copa Sudamericana.
Off the field, the club is undergoing considerable structural change following the last presidential election.
