Genius Sports closes partnership with the German Tennis Federation

The data and technology provider, Genius Sports Group has entered into an exclusive data and streaming partnership with the country’s tennis regulator, the German Tennis Federation (DTB).

Through the agreement, Genius gains the exclusive rights to collect and distribute live data and video content from championships organized by the federation for betting purposes. The organization hopes that this collaboration will help to improve its profile and connect with fans of the sport around the world.

In addition, the agreement will allow the German federation, which has more than 1.4 million members to play, to reach more sports enthusiasts through Genius’ more than 150 partners.

The video, analysis and live streaming platform, PlaySight, will provide automated production and live streams at all events covered by the contract.

“This cooperation with DTB is one of our biggest tennis partnerships to date, providing our betting partners with premium content during the peak windows of the global season,” said Jonny Katanchian, head of commercial partnerships in the region at Genius Sports.

DTB’s high-performance tennis vice president, Dirk Hordorff, underscored how the deal will bring millions of German and international fans the opportunity to accompany the German Tennis Championship at the end of the year, as well as the Bundesliga.

“Both competitions have the greatest international talents, which will help to increase the visibility of the sport”, pointed out Hordorff.

Rodney Rapson, executive director for Europe and UK at PlaySight, added that: “The Bundesliga is one of the best leagues in the world in terms of the level of players competing. Now, fans from all over the world will be able to watch this content live ”.

Genius Sports closed several deals at the end of the year

Genius Sports continues its global expansion throughout 2020, as did many actions in November and December by signing new data agreements with the soccer federations of Argentina and Mexico, Basketball Association of Poland, North American Hockey League, among others.
