On Wednesday, March 6, the Government of Tocantins, through the State Finance Department (Sefaz), conducted, in the auditorium of the School of Finance Management, the final stage of the bidding process for the implementation of the State Lottery.

This comprehensive project includes the installation, operation and maintenance of state lottery units in all 139 municipalities in the region.

During the bidding, accreditation and receipt of financial proposals and qualification documents took place. These were evaluated based on the criterion of the largest fixed grant.

The Lototins consortium of companies, participating in the event, presented a fixed grant in the significant amount of R$ 15,371,424.02.

Therefore, the documentation of this consortium is still subject to technical evaluation. If it meets all the requirements, it will be approved by publication in the Official State Gazette (DOE).

After completing the legal procedures, the consortium will sign the concession contract for the implementation of the State Lottery, where the State will guarantee a share in a percentage of the gross operating revenue.

The resources from this participation will be allocated to social projects, especially initiatives to encourage sports. After 20 years, public assets will integrate all lottery units.

Governor of Tocantins Wanderlei Barbosa

The governor of Tocantins, Wanderlei Barbosa declared: “The State Lottery represents an opportunity to create new horizons, strengthen the economy and generate additional revenue for investments in social areas.

We celebrate not only the success of today’s event, but we also envision a more promising future for Tocantins.

Together, we are building the foundations of a more resilient, equitable and dynamic state.”

Benefits with the State Lottery

This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the private sector, promises to bring a series of benefits to Tocantins society.

Among them, the fight against illegal betting, the generation of jobs and income in all municipalities, the stimulation of the local economy, the increase in public revenue and the financing of social projects stand out.

The president of Tocantins Parcerias, Aleandro Lacerda; the executive secretary of the Treasury, Donizeth Silva; and the Secretary of State for Partnerships and Investments, Thomas Jefferson, were present at the bidding session – Di Pietro/Governo do Tocantins

Donizeth Silva, executive secretary of the Sefaz Treasury, highlights that the State Lottery bidding represents the consolidation of a government policy aimed at strengthening partnerships with the private sector.

“We are among the federative units that have invested in this approach and we hope that these partnerships generate positive results for Tocantins”, highlighted the executive secretary.

This is the second bidding process aimed at executing a project under the Tocantins Partnership and Investment Program.

Therefore, the design of this program aims to expand and strengthen interaction between the state and the private sector, with coordination by the State Secretariat for Partnerships and Investments (SPI/TO).

Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State for Partnerships and Investments, stated: “This initiative reflects the commitment of the Government of Tocantins to seek strategic partnerships to boost economic and social development.
