Expectations were high for the project to be voted on in 2022, but due to the change of President of the Republic in 2023, priorities may be different. And the position of the president-elect on the issue is still uncertain, as there has been no pronouncement on his part.

The iGaming Brazil portal invited the expert on the subject, lawyer Neil Montgomery, from Montgomery & Associados, to analyze the issue and comment on an exclusive video.

Neil comments on the fact that the Government has overlooked the great opportunity for Brazil, in the year of the World Cup, to collect taxes arising from the activity, in addition to the bureaucratic issues that may be faced by companies already installed here.

Optimistic about the future, Neil does not fail to express his frustration with the expiry of the undefined regulation deadline in 2022.
