The betting market in Brazil continues to grow, driven by the regulation that took place on the first day of the year. Therefore, there are several regularized platforms, resulting in greater security for bettors.

In this way, the heated market drives users of KTO Apostas, which covers several sports and offers variety to its customers. Know when to bet and when to stop.

This scenario favors both beginners and more experienced bettors, as long as they make conscious use of the platform and adopt responsible practices to ensure a positive and balanced experience in the segment, using it as entertainment, and not in search of illusions.

Brazilians move billions in bets

With all this movement in the sector, according to Rogério Lucca, executive secretary of the monetary authority, Brazilians moved R$20 billion to R$30 billion per month in the 1st quarter.

“During this year, from January to March, the volume of transactions we are monitoring is around R$20 billion to R$30 billion per month,” he highlighted.

Lucca released the data during a session of the CPI (Parliamentary Inquiry Commission) in the Senate on bets.

“This is the amount that is transferred. Making an analogy, as if we were thinking about a casino, it is the amount that the person entered the casino […] They may not have bet, they may have bet several times there,” he declared.

The secretary also highlighted that, on average, bettors return 85% of the money they put in the betting house. In addition, he made it clear that the estimates changed after the regulation of the sector, as the data is now more concrete.

“With this identification, now with more concrete data, we ratified this value of R$21 billion. More recently, it could reach R$30 billion per month,” he added.

Therefore, the BC warns about the expansion of the betting apps market, but always emphasizes the importance of responsible gaming, with conscious operation on the platforms. Therefore, remember: betting is a matter for adults.

Changes with betting regulation

After years of discussions, Brazil has finally regulated online betting. Before that, fixed-odds betting was already allowed, but without specific legislation, which prevented the country from collecting taxes on these operations.

With the new regulations in force, the Brazilian government now has greater control over the sector, ensuring more effective oversight and, at the same time, generating revenue through the collection of fees and taxes.

With the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA), all companies need authorization from the Ministry of Finance. In this way, they seek to prevent pirate sites from remaining active, even with the blocking of Anatel, the National Telecommunications Agency.

Therefore, to operate a betting platform in Brazil, the company needs to obtain approval and pay fees, such as the 30 million grant. After that, it receives authorization to operate for five years and must follow all Brazilian rules.
