Global betting and online gaming brand Betway and South Africa’s T20 franchise cricket tournament, SA20, have signed a long-term partnership agreement. According to the terms, the bookmaker became the main partner of the sports competition, which is now called Betway SA20.
The agreement has been closed for several years and will allow the growth of both brands in important regions of the country. After all, the partnership represents global visibility for Betway SA20 in its first season.
Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway, said: “It is a great privilege for Betway to become a title sponsor of Betway SA20 as we continue to position ourselves as market leaders with our cricket offering in our sportsbook.”
“With the competition attracting attention from all corners of the world and the excitement surrounding the launch of the tournament, we are delighted to see the Betway brand continue to showcase its long-standing commitment to the sport with another top-notch sponsorship.”, he added.
Graeme Smith, Commissioner of the Betway SA20 League, added: “This is another significant milestone for us as we welcome Betway to our growing list of partners. This is a global brand with a passionate interest in cricket around the world and we look forward to seeing Betway SA20 scale new markets and audiences globally.”
The league’s first season will feature six teams: Durban’s Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, Paarl Royals, Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape.
