Defending champions, the Brazilian team debuts in the entry phase of the FIFA World Cup

If the Brazilian men’s soccer team was eliminated from the World Cup, the eSeleção will start the dispute for the title. Current champion of the FIFAe Nations Cup, the team was recently called up and already knows when it will play its first match in the edition played in FIFA 23.

Commanded by Gabgol, the team that will play in the play-ins will have the same team that won in Denmark, with Paulo Henrique “PHzin”, Klinger Castro, Pedro Resende and Gabriel Crepaldi. The entry stage starts for Brazil this week.

Missing Crepaldi, the eSeleção will play the first match against Chile, this Thursday, 15th, at 6 pm Brasília time. Soon after, Brazil faces Peru, at 18:30 and then faces Argentina at 19:00 and Colombia at 19:40. The next day, starting at 6 pm, the return games take place and the selections meet again.

According to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the winning squad for the World Cup was retained only for this first Play-In, which will still take place in 2022. Next year, another edition of the CBF e-Trophy will be promoted, a competition that will establish the definitive representatives of the eSeleção.

The play-in phase will take place over three weeks of play between December 2022 and March 2023. The top-placed teams from each region will advance to the FIFAe Nations Playoffs, while the rest will play in the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers for the month Of april.

A total of 23 countries will participate in the FIFA World Cup in the middle of next year.

The FIFAe Nations Cup is a series of eSports tournaments organized by FIFA annually. The competition, which had to be canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was held again in July this year in Denmark. Brazil is the current champion of the tournament. Now, the cycle starts again for a new edition in 2023.
