Due to a significant increase in the number of positive cases of Covid-19 in the Mexican state of Guerrero, the State Health Council has decided to reduce the capacity in closed spaces to 80%, including casinos, restaurants and other closed businesses, while in open spaces the capacity will be 90%.
The health authorities declared that the measure was also taken with the necessary prevention in view of the arrival of the summer vacation period and determined that, from Monday 18 to 31 July, the capacity of public and private establishments will be modified.
According to government data, as of July 18, there were 3,227 active COVID-19 cases and currently the hospital occupancy rate is 28%.
The places that must have a capacity of 80% are: casinos, hotels, restaurants, theaters, supermarkets, shopping centers, nightclubs, congresses, workplaces, gyms, museums, bars, pubs and nightclubs. Also hospitals, bus stations, airports, transport and pharmacies, among others.
On the other hand, the 90% capacity will be for public and private establishments and mass events in places such as zoos, nautical services, fairs, cemeteries, private parks, sporting events, ballrooms, stadiums, archaeological zones, congresses, civic squares. , water sports, meeting and sports centers.
Authorities in tourist centers such as Acapulco also urged establishments to strengthen health protocols to contain the contagion, requiring the correct and mandatory use of masks, hand hygiene with soap and water or antibacterial gel, and promoting natural ventilation.
The growth of the Covid-19 contagion has been affecting several regions of the world, such as Macau, which had to establish strict lockdown measures to contain a great advance of the disease in the region. But recently, on July 23, the large gambling center has already allowed the reopening of casinos with operations limited to 50% of the workforce and various security measures against the virus.
