Grêmio may replace Alfa with Energia Bet as its main sponsor

Grêmio may have a new main sponsor at the end of this season. According to GE, the club from Rio Grande do Sul has officially requested the termination of its contract with Alfa, its current sponsor, due to the delay in payment of three installments.

The request for termination was initially reported by journalist Chico Garcia. Tricolor Gaúcho is likely to close a deal with another company in the betting sector: Energia Bet, which could debut on the Grêmio shirt as early as this Tuesday (2).

The club faces Fluminense at 9:30 PM, at the Arena, in Porto Alegre, for the 37th round of the Brazilian Championship.

According to GE, Alfa claimed to the club that a corporate restructuring was the reason for the payment delays and stated that it could resolve the issue by January 2026. However, the betting company chose not to comment publicly on the matter.

With Energia Bet’s interest growing in recent days, the current Grêmio board decided to accelerate the termination process. It is worth remembering that the club is due to undergo a management change next Monday (8).

Alfa is also a sponsor of Internacional.

The contract between Alfa and Grêmio began in January of this year and was announced as the largest in history, with figures around 50 million reais per year.

Furthermore, the company also sponsors Internacional. For now, the agreement with Colorado should remain.

What is the situation of the Gre-Nal duo in the Brazilian Championship standings?

Currently, Grêmio is in 10th position in the Brazilian Championship table, with 46 points — 13 wins, 10 draws and 14 losses. Internacional, on the other hand, is in a more complicated situation, with 41 points and in the relegation zone.

In 17th place, Colorado has the same points as Santos, the first team outside the relegation zone. The team has 10 wins, 11 draws and 15 losses. Recently, the club announced Abel Braga as the new coach, with the aim of keeping the team in the first division. The next match will be against São Paulo, on Wednesday (3), away from home.
