Marco Trucco, Marketing Director at Videoslots, commented on the choice of the new brand to replace Mr Vegas as sponsor.
“ We had a successful partnership last season with Mr Vegas and have decided to put our new Mega Riches brand on his shoulders this year. We look forward to running a series of activations throughout the season to interact with fans and give away some great prizes.”
New standards for gambling-related sponsorships
English Football has entered into this agreement whilst implementing a new Code of Conduct for “Gambling Related Agreements”. This code, valid from the 2024/25 season.
In this way, it establishes guidelines for clubs and competitions to ensure that the sponsorship of betting games is carried out in a responsible manner.
Furthermore, it must be aligned with the principles of protection, social responsibility, reinvestment and integrity.
In short, clubs must protect children and vulnerable people by limiting exposure to gambling sponsorships and promoting educational campaigns.
Additionally, income earned from gambling sponsorships must be reinvested in infrastructure and community programs.
Therefore, the code also reinforces the integrity of competitions by requiring players and teams to be educated about the FA’s betting rules.
