Handball Women's Bundesliga and Sportradar sign partnership to protect competitions

Bundesliga Women’s Handball, the governing body for elite women’s professional handball in Germany, has entered into an agreement with Sportradar Integrity Services, a unit of Sportradar and a global provider of sports integrity solutions and a partner of more than 150 sports federations and leagues, for monitoring the bets of the organization’s competitions.

Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, women’s matches in Bundesliga 1 and 2, Cup and Supercup will be monitored by Sportradar through the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), an advanced and proven betting monitoring system that has been evaluated and verified. independently by recognized experts in the field of sports betting and integrity.

Sportradar has 17 years of experience monitoring the sports scene

Betting patterns across handball competitions will be analyzed for abnormalities by a global team of integrity experts, and any suspicious games will be subsequently reported, allowing critical visibility into potential match-fixing threats.

Sportradar’s Integrity Services has detected over 7,300 suspicious matches over the past 17 years, with over 600 of them taking place in 2022 alone.

Handball Bundesliga Women’s Handball Managing Director Christoph Wendt said: “We recognize the dangers that match-fixing poses to sport and understand the important role that monitoring of bets can play in efforts to address this risk.”
