Year 2022 should break a record in the number of manipulation of results

Sportradar, a company specializing in competitive integrity and betting monitoring, has already identified – as of April 1st – over 670 matches with suspected match-fixing, 400 of which in football alone.

In addition, everything indicates that this number should exceed 1,000 cases for the first time in history, as the World Cup is approaching in the coming months.

In the year 2021, Sportradar recorded 903 games with suspected manipulation in 10 different sports and in 76 countries. The number broke a record in 17 years of follow-up, and could be surpassed in 2022.
