Bookmakers already sponsor 19 of the 20 teams in the Brasileirão Serie A

Recently, Botafogo announced Blaze as its new master sponsor. Thus, the bookmakers reached an expressive mark: 19 of the 20 teams that are in the first division of the Brazilian Championship have some partnership in this sector.

The Blaze brand has been in the most valued space of the Fogão uniform since July 10th. However, the official debut of the sponsorship with the full team took place last week, on the 14th, when Botafogo was surpassed by América-MG, in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.

The only exception currently is Athletico-PR, which has already been part of this group. The team ended the deal with Betmotion, which appeared at the bottom of the shirt, to close with EstrelaBet, which would have the brand inserted in the main space of the Hurricane’s shirt. The contract was announced last month but canceled days later unilaterally.

In men’s football, this type of partnership started four years ago, especially after the departure of state banks, which had several master sponsorships. According to Máquina do Esporte, of the 19 teams with partnerships with bookmakers, 18 clubs have agreements with brand exposure on the uniform.

Palmeiras is the only club that escapes this rule. That’s because Betfair has entered into a betting partnership with the club and master sponsorship of the women’s team. The contract includes activations on the club’s digital channels mentioning men’s and women’s games, but visibility is limited to the Palestrinas uniform. The men’s shirt is entirely occupied by Crefisa and FAM, companies commanded by Leila Pereira, current president of Verdão.

Sponsorships in women’s football

It should be noted that these partnerships are already a reality in women’s football. In addition to Palmeiras with master sponsorship from Betfair, Internacional also has this type of support in the most valued place of the women’s team.

“Investors look to Inter as a good place to promote their brands, and the new partners are of great importance and prove the good management of the sport”, said Jorge Avancini, vice president of marketing at Internacional.

In May, Galera.Bet extended its contract with Corinthians, which already included the men’s team. Since then, the company’s brand has been incorporated into the women’s team in a one-off action, which has recently become definitive. The contract entitles you to activations on social media, a sign at the Training Center and exposure on backdrops in interviews.
