Betsson board withdraws from replacing current CEO Pontus Lindwall

Betsson AB’s new Board of Directors has decided to waive the decision to replace the company’s current CEO, Pontus Lindwall.

Based on the group’s short- and medium-term priorities, such as entering the US market, the newly elected Board decided to revoke the decision communicated on September 19 to remove Pontus Lindwall from his current position as CEO of Betsson AB.

“We had several discussions with key Betsson stakeholders, the management team, employees as well as many of the largest shareholders. Based on these discussions, the current Board does not believe it would be good to change leadership now,” explained Johan Lundberg, Chairman of the Board of Betsson AB.

Lundberg continued: “The company needs to focus on all the important work ahead, such as the unexpected situation in the Netherlands.”
