Genius Sports signs transmission and betting data agreement with AHL

The American Hockey League (AHL), the main development league of the National Hockey League (NHL), has signed a broadcast and data contract for long-term sports betting with the Genius Sports Group.

With 31 teams in the United States and Canada, AHL has young athletes from around the world. The exclusive arrangement also includes a platform to increase the audience of the competition, providing data and live views to betting operators inside and outside the United States.

Official competition information will feed into Genius Sports’ algorithms, which join more than 12,000 events broadcast live annually. Thus, the agreement with AHL serves to further diversify the company’s sports offer.

Chris Nikolis, business director at AHL, said: “We are excited about our partnership with Genius Sports. Our goal is to deliver the excitement and quality of hockey to fans around the world and interact with them in the best possible way. Genius Sports is an industry leader and we hope to have a long and successful relationship ”.

Sean Conroy, Director of Commercial Partnerships for the Genius Sports Group, also commented on the new deal signed by the company. “This partnership exemplifies the unique value we offer our sports and gambling partners in the United States and around the world.”

Conroy added: “With the right technology partner, sports leagues can engage with the regulated betting industry to generate new revenue, increase engagement and expand their global audience. At the same time, our betting partners benefit from our growing portfolio of premium data and video content. ”

Genius Sports will help the global growth of the hockey league

The director of commercial partnerships at Genius Sports also stressed that with “regulated betting continuing to spread across the United States, AHL recognized a unique opportunity to accelerate its global growth. And, we are excited to work alongside such a dynamic league ”.
