Grêmio’s professional squad participated in a lecture on integrity in football. The event took place at the Presidente Luiz Carvalho Training Center on Monday (21) and was in partnership with Sportradar, a global leader in monitoring and preventing sports manipulation. Alfa, the club‘s master sponsor, promoted the activity.
The presentation aims to educate players about the importance of ethical conduct in football, reinforcing best practices and preventing risks related to the betting market.
During the lecture, topics such as possible punishments for match-fixing cases were discussed, as well as methods for identifying suspicious activity, as well as approaches to external agents and negative impacts on players’ careers and reputations.

With extensive experience in the field and a prominent figure in football integrity, Felippe Marchetti, Sportradar’s Integrity Partnerships Manager, led the presentation. He has led training sessions in several Latin American countries and works directly with clubs, leagues, federations, and sports authorities.
In light of this, Marchetti commented on the activity in Porto Alegre: “The most important thing is to show the athletes that they play a central role in preserving the credibility of football and that they need to protect themselves, as they are the main targets of match-fixers.”
He added: “Sharing real examples, data and behind-the-scenes investigations helps generate empathy and awareness about the risks that bad decisions can bring.”

After the talk, four athletes welcomed some Grêmio fans who were presented with branded kits, including an Imortal jersey. Fans also got to meet their idols up close and take photos with the players.
