As a result of the deliberations and debates carried out within the scope of this working group, two proposals for bills emerged.

The first focuses on establishing the State Policy for Attraction, Stimulus, Incentive, Promotion and Development of the iGaming Ecosystem in the state.

Meanwhile, the second deals with the regulation of iGaming operations and the granting of licenses for operators of fixed quota lotteries (AQF).

The deputy stated that such initiatives aim to create a favorable environment for the growth of the online betting sector in Rio Grande do Sul.

Marcus Vinícius said: “iGaming is an innovative sector that makes it possible to place bets on sporting events and other games over the internet, and it has aroused growing interest.

“The report presented by the subcommittee reflects a collaborative effort to establish solid foundations for the regulation and responsible development of this sector in the state”, adds Vinícius on the PL to regulate games.

At the delivery ceremony of the Subcommittee report and the two legislative proposals, the President of the Assembly, Deputy Vilmar Zanchin (MDB), highlighted:

“I always see that these subcommittees, these temporary bodies, are created to deal with specific issues, but often lack delivery and presentation of concrete results. I see here that there is a proposal for two very important matters for the State.”

The president emphasized the commitments of the working group, which was established on April 24 and conducted a series of public hearings, meetings, lectures and meetings.

Regarding the proposals, he underlined that the first bill proposed by the deputy, if approved, will complement the current state legislation, introducing the State Policy of Attraction, Stimulus, Incentive, Promotion and Development of the iGaming Ecosystem in the State of Rio Grande southern.
