DANZ Bet, the online sportsbook and casino brand of sports media streaming service DANZ, has obtained a license to offer sports betting in Germany.
It has been added to the list of authorized sports betting operators by the German regulator GGL.
The Malta-registered operator, founded by Dazn in partnership with Pragmatic Gaming last April, will operate at Daznbet.de.
DANZ offers a live sports streaming service in over 200 markets. In addition to launching DAZN Bet, its offer includes NFTs, tickets and merchandise. Its current CEO is Shay Segev, who joined the company from gaming giant Entain. The company subsequently hired several former Entain employees.
DAZN Bet, with Mark Kemp as CEO, launched in the UK in August last year and is aiming for initial expansion into Spain and Ontario.
It states that its offering aims to provide a more recreational and social sports betting experience than offered elsewhere. It has chosen Playtech as its primary provider of online casino solutions.
The launch of DANZ Bet
Mark Kemp, CEO of DAZN Bet, commented on the launch of the brand and how this new opportunity has supported DANZ: “The initial launch of DAZN Bet marked the start of an exciting journey across media and sports betting, and further fulfills the commitments we’ve made to revitalize sports for fans.”
“We are on a mission to create a richer entertainment product that, over time, will be integrated into DAZN’s daily sports business wherever possible.”
“While this market entry is a learning phase, our goal is to provide DAZN’s global sports fan community with a fantastic recreational sports betting product,” said Kemp.
