Nearly 55% of all sports bets in 2022 were placed on football, which proves the sport’s leading position with its 20% year-on-year growth. The solution for online betting projects offered by the innovative technology company SOFTSWISS celebrates its 2nd anniversary and shares experts’ conclusions about the sector over the years.
Regarding product statistics, the most popular sports bets through the platform were the following:
Football – 54.64%
Basketball – 16.32%
Tennis – 15.67%
Commenting on the most popular sports on Bet Sum in 2022, Alexander Kamenetskyi, Head of SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, points out that despite the third position, tennis betting leads in terms of profitability.
“American football and cricket are in the top 7 sports, which surprises us positively. It shows that they are well represented in the SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, and our partners’ marketing campaigns work very well for them.”
From an eSports perspective, extremely popular Counter-Strike titles account for almost 75% of all bets. Furthermore, the rise in popularity of League of Legends is also noteworthy, with its share of esports betting surpassing 15%.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup played an important role in boosting bettor loyalty, attracting 37.5% of all sports bets during the tournament period. The average stake in the tournament was 74 euros, and the most popular match was the final duel between Argentina and France. However, the most profitable match in terms of betting was Morocco v Spain, where Morocco, the ‘zebra’ of the World Cup, beat several favorites in the competition.
Sportsbook increased its GGR by 485% year-on-year, while jackpots were up 795% and turnover was up 654%. These spectacular numbers highlight the important growth area that the Sportsbook platform unlocks for SOFTSWISS.
Alexander Kamenetskyi comments on the product’s growth: “We are excited about Sportsbook’s growth on all fronts: betting, turnover, profits and of course its functionality.
The flexible margin system mastered by our risk team has been a major contributing factor. Twenty new projects and three platforms also helped us achieve this phenomenal growth. The release of one-time bonuses contributed to the attraction and retention of players in projects, which also played a significant role.”
2022 in particular was a breakthrough year for the solution, with extensive back-end work allowing it to be integrated into the SOFTSWISS Game Aggregator, ensuring operators get two high-quality products on one fast link.
“I want to thank the team and partners for bringing our great cross-product integration to life. It’s a really hard and professional effort that has gone a long way in meeting the demands of our customers. I am confident that this will help us develop even faster and grow even more in 2023,” added Kamenetskyi.
The SOFTSWISS sports betting software now offers markets in over 180 different sports, as well as three unique bonus systems: Lootbox Bonus, Freebet Booster and Hunting Tournaments.
In addition to its growing sportsbook offering, it has benefited from relationships with several well-known brand ambassadors, including esports commentator Kostya Sivko. The Sportsbook and other innovative SOFTSWISS products will be showcased at ICE London 2023, booth N8-231.
