The second division of the Brazilian Championship is now called Brasileirão SportingBet – Série B. The new name was announced in the opening round of the competition this weekend. The sports betting company acquired the naming rights of Brasileiro for the next three years.

According to an official note from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), this is the first time that Série B has its own naming rights contract. The Brasileirão SportingBet – Série B brand will appear in official content and commercial properties of the championship, including the portico for the presentation of the teams in the matches, the ball totem, the central plate of the lawn and panels on the sides of the fields.

“Series B is already one of the great competitions in the Brazilian football calendar. This year, it has everything to be seen, played and exciting. Therefore, we are very happy to have SportingBet as a great partner in these next three seasons.” “, said CBF President Ednaldo Rodrigues.

Each edition of the second national division registers 380 clashes and the new visual identity appeared in the first matches, with Brusque x Guarani, Vasco x Vila Nova and Bahia x Cruzeiro opening the dispute. “SportingBet decided to invest in another CBF competition. We already have a partnership in the Copa do Nordeste and now it’s Serie B’s turn”, highlighted CBF Marketing Director, Gilberto Ratto.

The marketing director of the entity responsible for national football concluded: “It is a historic moment for Brazilian football, which for the first time will have its Série B with a commercial agreement of this size. This only scales the progress we have achieved in the competition, which promises a lot this year”.
