German player Stanislav Zegal put on a show of skill and strategy when he won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise main event, held in the Bahamas.

In addition to winning his first career bracelet, Zegal pocketed a prize of US$2 million, equivalent to approximately R$9.9 million, solidifying his position in the “Poker World Cup“.

Zegal’s Journey at the WSOP

On the last day of the tournament, Stanislav Zegal started with the second biggest stack, tied with Brazilian Gabriel Schroeder, who was eliminated in sixth place.

Czech Michael Sklenicka emerged as the main event runner-up, providing a thrilling battle against Zegal.

Despite not winning the coveted bracelet, Sklenicka took home a substantial prize pool of US$1.2 million, approximately R$6 million, reinforcing the competitiveness of the tournament.

Tournament details

The WSOP Paradise main event had a buy-in of US$5,000 (R$24,800), attracting a total of 3,010 participants.

The competition brought together players who competed in qualifying rounds in the Bahamas and others who participated online through GGPoker, highlighting the tournament’s inclusive approach.

WSOP Paradise Edition

For the first time, the World Series of Poker held the “Paradise” edition in the Bahamas, sponsored by GGPoker.

Therefore, the festival, which took place from December 3 to 14, involved online and in-person tournaments on Atlantis Paradise Island. The 15 scheduled tournaments distributed a total prize pool of more than R$240 million.

Not only did Stanislav Zegal take home a substantial prize, he also earned his place in WSOP Paradise history.
