Banco do Estado do Espírito Santo (Banestes) has received three proposals to operate its lottery unit. The offers were evaluated based on financial and technical criteria. Therefore, the final decision should be made by April.
Ricardo Pessanha, president of Banestes Loteria, said: “We require five years of experience from the partner, and that the leader of the conglomerate be an international operator. We have received three proposals from large groups and are evaluating them.
After entering into exclusive negotiations with one of them, we will have the signature and a few months of structuring the operation, but we will certainly have the start of Banestes Loteria in 2025″.
Furthermore, the executive highlighted the technical and financial robustness of the proposals received. All offers undergo detailed analysis.
State banks are structuring their lotteries
Several state banks are also structuring their lotteries, as well as monitoring the sports betting market. Therefore, the strategy is to distribute the product through the BanesFácil correspondent network.
In fact, this network has almost 400 service points. In addition, digital channels will be widely used to strengthen operations.
The bank intends to operate a sports betting modality. Therefore, Banestes does not rule out the implementation of physical video lottery machines.
In this way, modalities similar to the “tiger game” can be explored in the real environment. However, the law prohibits land-based casinos, animal gambling and bingo.
According to Pessanha, the bank will only study initiatives that are legal. Finally, the team will configure the operations in accordance with current regulations, ensuring transparency and security for customers.
