A Brazilian woman hit the jackpot in the United States. Resident of Massachusetts, Brazilian Aline Freitas won around 4 million dollars (around R$ 23 million at current prices) in a State Lottery scratch card.

The winning ticket is part of the 777 instant game, according to the AchoUsa website.

Thus, the Brazilian decided to receive the prize in a single installment of 2.6 million dollars. However, this amount will still be reduced depending on taxes and other fees.

Quite impacted by the achievement, Aline declared that the main goal is to use the money to purchase a new house.

The scratch card was purchased at the Daily Mart in Framingham. As a reward for selling the lucky ticket, the establishment will be entitled to a bonus of 40 thousand dollars from the state lottery.

It is worth noting that the Massachusetts State Lottery usually announces big prize winners, and instant games like “777” are among the most famous.

About the Massachusetts State Lottery

The first state lottery drawing took place on April 6 at Faneuil Hall. Seven people won $50,000. In 1974, Massachusetts became the first state to sell instant tickets as an alternative to jackpot games. “The Instant Game,” a $1 ticket, featured a top prize of $10,000.

In 2009, the New England Patriots Instant Ticket, the nation’s first instant game to feature an NFL team logo, was introduced. Thus, the game had two chances to win up to US$ 1 million in promotions.

The following year, Powerball arrived in Massachusetts, which became one of only 45 lotteries in the country to offer both Mega Millions and Powerball.

In total, the Massachusetts State Lottery generated more than $155 billion in revenue, awarding more than $109 billion in prizes. Additionally, the organization has passed more than $33 billion in net profits back to the community for unrestricted local relief, and paid more than $8.8 billion in commissions and bonuses to its statewide network of retailers.
