Caixa Econômica Federal will promote contest 2,676 of the Mega-Sena this Tuesday (16), with an estimated prize of R$21 million.

The draw for this lottery is scheduled for 8 pm (Brazília time) and will be broadcast live through Caixa’s social networks.

Understand how to participate

Eventually, those who wish to participate can register their bets up to one hour before the draw, at 7pm, at any lottery outlet accredited by Caixa, via the bank’s website or app.

The single ticket, which consists of six marked numbers, is available for R$5.

When opting for the Caixa website, the minimum amount to bet on Mega-Sena is R$30, valid for both a single and multiple bets.

For more robust bets, such as seven numbers, the cost is R$31.50, as reported by Caixa. Another alternative to reaching the minimum value is to place seven simple bets, the sum of which also totals R$31.50.

Mega-Sena Pool

In addition to individual bets, players have the option of participating in pools, forming groups to choose numbers.

Occasionally, when registering in the system, the bet generates a quota receipt for each participant, allowing each participant to individually redeem their share of the prize.

Pools have a minimum cost of R$10, with each share must be at least R$5. It is possible to form pools with a minimum of two and a maximum of 100 shares.

In addition, bettors have the alternative of purchasing shares in pools organized by lotteries, being able to request the desired quantity from the attendant and check the bet on the day of the draw.

However, for this service, an additional service fee may be applied, varying up to 35% of the quota value, at the lottery’s discretion.

Awards

The gross prize pool corresponds to 43.35% of the collection, being distributed as follows:

  • 35% among those who correctly matched the 6 numbers drawn (Sena);
  • 19% among those who guessed 5 numbers correctly (Quina);
  • 19% among those who guessed 4 numbers correctly (Quadra);
  • 22% accumulated for those who match the 6 numbers in the final 0 or 5 contests;
  • 5% accumulated for the first band (sena) of the last competition of the final year 0 or 5 (Mega da Virada).

If there is no winner in any category, the value accumulates for the next competition in the respective prize category.

Therefore, prizes are valid for 90 days after the draw date. After this period, Caixa Econômica Federal allocates the amounts to the National Treasury for investment in the Higher Education Student Financing Fund (Fies).
